The Primitives - 2004
96 x 12 x 18 in.
Formed and fabricated aluminum.
Wall sculpture illustrating the digital divide
between conceptualiztion and actualization.
The 'primitives', or basic geometric solids
from CAD are constructed in aluminum using
auto-body and silversmithing techniques.
Rhomboid - 2004
18 x 36 x 4 in.
formed and fabricated steel
Hyper-real human anatomy manipulated
through virtual technologies to hand-craft a
wall sculpture. A photograph was used to
generate a 3D model of human anatomy.
That model was then used as the fitting
pattern to make the final piece in steel using
an English Wheel and auto-body techniques.
Sound Forge Set - 2004
Tumbler 4 x 3 in. dia. - Starch prototype, paint
Plate 1 x 8 in. dia. - Spun Aluminum
Group project with Tim Hossler, Keetra Dixon,
and Shan Sutherland
Sound wave histograms used to generate the
forms of utility objects. Here, the words "eat"
and "drink" were used to make a plate and
cup.
