nCode - 2003
Carbon fiber racket with urethane insert.
Used by Serena Williams to win the 2005
Australia Open, this carbon fiber racket was
designed in a collaborative team of
designers, engineers, prototyping specialists
and manufacturers. I was involved in concept
generation and refinement as well as
prototyping.
Deep Red II Irons - 2003
Full set of cast steel golf irons with
dual-density urethane inserts for vibration
dampening.
In a collaboration between Wilson Sports and
Design Concepts, Inc., these clubs were
designed to hightlight the insert technology.
I worked through concept generation and
refinement, and later carved prototypes to
meet mass and CG requirements.
Adjustable Youth Batting Helmet
Named by USA Today & Business Week
as one of the best products of 2002
Designed with more ventillation, better jaw
protection, and a unique size adjustment
system, this helmet has been an enormous
success for Wilson Sports - orders exceeded
projections by over 2000%. I was involved in
concept generation and aesthetic refinement.
In three years of design consulting, I
have worked on over 20 products in
medical, consumer, automotive,
furniture, and sports markets. Through
that work, I am named on seven
patents, and helped design teams win
several design awards: including a
2005 IDEAS award, and two NEOCON
Gold awards.
Because of confidentiality agreements,
much of that work cannot be shown here.
